Star 1017 Featured in New Documentary

We're in a movie, y'all! Star 1017 and Black Warrior Riverkeeper are featured in a new documentary about the MASSIVE Northport sewer spill over the 4th of July weekend. 

You probably remember this story: the City of Northport had a sewer malfunction over the holiday weekend that resulted in MILLIONS of gallons of raw sewage being pumped into the Black Warrior River. Everyone here at the station was really concerned about how this spill would affect our listeners, and we wanted y'all to know what was really going on. When I first learned how severe this spill was, I reached out to Nelson Brooke with Black Warrior Riverkeeper for a series of interviews; part of an interview is now included in a documentary!

The Southern Environmental Law Center published a “Southern Exposure” documentary called What a Waste about sewage problems in Alabama.
