Race day for the kids is almost here! It's the Youth First 8K Saturday morning at the Downtown Tuscaloosa YMCA on Paul W. Bryant Drive.

If 8K is too much for you, try the 2-mile run or even the Fun Run. However, if you're feeling ambitious, sign up for both the 8K and the 2-mile. Oh yeah, you'll have time between the two to do it. I'm actually thinking about it myself. Why not? It will be true test of endurance.

Bottom line, we can all help make a difference, while having fun outdoors at this event. The campaign we're raising morning helps the YMCA "to provide financial assistance for families in our community so they can afford for their children to play sports and partake in our literacy programs in summer camps. Our Youth First Campaign also helps provide you and your family the opportunity to start living a healthy lifestyle through memberships at the YMCA."

Check out the race shirt for everyone!
