No More Guns At Walmart In Alabama?

Some may say they saw this coming. Walmart is making some changes when it comes to guns in their stores.

One of the biggest elections is on the horizon. In an effort to combat potential civil unrest following the election results, Walmart will temporarily remove guns and ammunition from its store displays. According to ABC 33/40, Walmart stores nationwide will seek to prevent firearms and ammunition from being stolen if stores are broken into amid any civil unrest caused by the upcoming presidential election on Nov. 3rd.

There have been episodes of looting across the country after incidents involving police and citizens. Gun stores in Alabama were even victims of theft earlier this year. Ahead of this election, it's only right that Walmart prepares. As they say, better safe than sorry.

Walmart has not confirmed an exact timeline of how long these items will be removed. This does not mean that customers won't be able to purchase firearms or ammunition. You can still purchase ammunition and firearms at Walmart but you will have to request the items from an employee at the store.

I'm really hoping nothing crazy happens after the election results are in. Whichever way the election goes, I'd hate to see civil unrest happen especially here in Alabama.

Walmart made a statement to USA Today saying, "We have seen some isolated civil unrest and as we have done on several occasions over the last few years, we have moved our firearms and ammunition off the sales floor as a precaution for the safety of our associates and customers."
