Massive Family Entertainment Facility ‘Shindig’ Opens in Tuscaloosa
Shindig, the $6 million, 51,000-square foot family entertainment center announced last year, is officially open for business, according to a press release distributed Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson said the new state-of-the-art facility offers patrons blacklight golf, laser tag, bowling lanes, arcades and more, as well as a restaurant and bar inside.
Shindig's owner, Steve Williams, said he made the decision to open Shindig last Friday, after Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced that entertainment venues, which have been shut down statewide since March because of the COVID-19 pandemic, are allowed to reopen to the public at half capacity so long as they follow social distancing and sanitation guidelines.
“We are excited to open to the public, and we are following all the guidelines set forth by Governor Ivey and Mayor Walt Maddox,” Williams said. “We are a one-of kind family entertainment center that our community will enjoy. We are going to be as safe as possible during these times and we look forward to when we can open to full capacity, when our officials deem it safe to do so.”
Families and fun seekers can find Shindig at 5800 McFarland Boulevard, across the street Townsend Ford.
