Early Saturday morning, runners gathered at Government Plaza in Downtown Tuscaloosa for the Second Annual Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah 5K, fighting Cystic Fibrosis through the Thomas Plott Foundation!

Last year's race drew 500 registered runners. It clearly appeared there was easily as many this year!

Congrats on the fine work by Cissy Cochran, Blair Plott and all of the volunteers involved to host a flawless and first class running event in Tuscaloosa!

It was also great to see a bunch of our local celebrities in attendance.

The Shelton State Cheerleaders made everyone feel like champions, as they cheered everyone to the start line. The DJ played an awesome mix of upbeat songs to get us moving.

At race time, Nick's wife, Terry Saban shared a few words. Then, it was time for Alabama's Scott Cochran!  The crowd anticipated hear his signature battle cry, "Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah!"  Uh oh, Scott has been busy firing up the football so much, that his voice is shot!  It was still awesome!

Some races offer a medal to the finishers. The Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah 5K handed out lanyards with a whistle!  Perfect!  Add to it, our very own Alabama Gymnastics team were the ones handing them out at the finish line.  Roll Tide to that!

Congrats to all of the finishers and to me for winning a TCBY $5 gift card door prize.  Nice job everyone, together we came together to raise a lot money for the Thomas Plott Foundation!

Here's are a few photos I snapped from the morning.
