Tuscaloosa has a new City Councilman. 62-year-old Lee Busby is the unofficial winner of yesterday's special election. WVUA23 reports only 337 of 6,800 registered voters showed up to cast votes at Calvary Baptist Church. Busby earned 197 of the 337 votes cast.

Busby, a 62-year-old businessman and retired Marine Corps Colonel, will be sworn in on October 15th. He will be replacing Councilman Matt Calderone who resigned from his position as the District 4 representative after he moved outside of the district.

Busby defeated Frank Fleming and John Earl for the District 4 seat, an area that includes downtown Tuscaloosa and portions of town near the University of Alabama.
