En route to Alabama's dominating 115-82 victory over the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, senior guard John Petty Jr. cemented his name in the UA history books as the best 3-point shooter to ever suit up in crimson and white.

Just minutes into the Tide's weekend matchup in Tuscaloosa, Alabama Athletics announced that senior guard John Petty Jr. had surpassed Brian Williams (1996-1999) in both three-point shots made (289) and attempted (745), while also securing the No. 1 spot for three-point percentage with 38.8%.

His impact on games behind the arch won't just be limited to a local legend as he's also worked his way into the SEC conference record list as well. With only five games remaining in his regular-season career, Petty Jr. has landed himself in the top-25 for 3-point percentage and top-10 for made 3-pointers in the history of the SEC.

3-point shots have been the bread and butter of the overbearing Alabama offense since HC Nate Oats took the reigns of the program in the spring of 2019. In these two seasons, Alabama has been either No. 1 or No. 2 for total points per game in the SEC, alongside leading the conference in 3-pointers made, attempted, and team 3-point percentage.

Alabama's 3-point king will play his last game in Coleman Coliseum on Tuesday, March 2, as HC Bruce Pearl and the 11-11 Auburn Tigers make the trip up to Tuscaloosa to play the second meeting of the "Iron Bowl of Basketball" in 2021.

The next opportunity to watch No. 11 Alabama basketball is scheduled to take place on Thursday as HC Nate Oats and the 17-5 Crimson Tide travel to College Station, TX to match up with the 8-7 Texas A&M Aggies.
