Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull Kick Off Colorful 2014 World Cup Opening Ceremony [VIDEO]
Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte danced and sang their way through the opening ceremony of the 2014 World Cup in Sao Paulo, Brazil to the rousing tune of ‘We Are One.’
Claudia took to the stage first in a glittery blue leotard and matching booties to amp up the crowd. The stadium was a proud sea of yellow as they danced along to the stunning vocals of their native celeb. Pitbull, in his own yellow jersey emblazoned with ‘Brasil,’ and Jennifer, looking gorgeous as always in a sexy teal leotard, joined the Brazilian singer for a spirited live rendition of the official World Cup song.
The three performers — together cleverly representing the three colors of the Brazilian flag — were surrounded by stilt-walkers, gymnasts and costumed dancers in a colorful display to warm up tournament attendees before the first game kicked off.
Earlier in the day, J. Lo posted an Instagram video of herself shaking her hips in her sequined ensemble, ending with a sassy, “Who said I wasn’t coming?” (This is presumably in response to the earlier rumor that she wouldn’t be making an appearance for the opening.) The mom of two is totally rocking that one-piece!
The colors and costumes alone were amazing, but coupled with the trio’s exhilarating performance, we’d say it was a fun, patriotic and all-around perfect way to start the month-long World Cup festivities!
