A man has been identified, located and arrested after he allegedly shot three people at a Tuscaloosa Texaco gas station Sunday.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said officers were called around 3:30 p.m. Sunday to a shooting at the Texaco at 5400 East McFarland Boulevard.

Officers found three men who had all been shot, reportedly by the same suspect. Kennedy said all three are in stable condition and expected to survive.

After interviewing witnesses and processing the scene for evidence, the VCU believes 27-year-old Jayshawn Sharmaine Reed is responsible. Patrol officers searched for his vehicle. located and arrested him Sunday evening.

Kennedy said multiple search warrants are being executed in multiple locations Sunday recovering evidence related to the shooting.

 

Reed was charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Kennedy said the alleged shooter would be held with no bond pending further review by the courts.
