Foo Fighters Announce 3 New Shows, Including June Stop in Alabama
One of the most iconic rock bands of all time is coming to Alabama this summer on an extremely limited tour that promises to be emotional for the group and their fans.
The Foo Fighters have dominated the alternative rock genre for decades.
The group did little touring last year except for two tribute shows in September, but last month announced a series of shows beginning in late May at the Boston Calling Music Festival.
Alt 101.7 can now announce the Foo Fighters are adding three new shows to their limited tour schedule and one planned stop will be here in Alabama.
"Further making good on their New Year’s Eve promise that they’d see you all soon, Foo Fighters have announced three new headline shows, including a performance at Pelham’s Oak Mountain Amphitheatre," the band said in a press release distributed locally by promoters Red Mountain Entertainment.
The show is set for Friday, June 16th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Amphitheater, and tickets will go on sale this Friday, March 3rd, at 10 a.m. at livenation.com.
Citi is the official card of these three shows, according to the release, and Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning today, February 28th at 11 a.m. Central until Thursday at 10 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program. For complete presale details visit www.citientertainment.com.
The band is led by frontman Dave Grohl, who skyrocketed to fame as the drummer for Nirvana and released the first Foo Fighters record in 1995, a year after Kurt Cobain's death.
For nearly 30 years since then, the band has been at the top of the genre, boasting 15 Grammy Awards on 32 nominations including a record-setting five wins for Best Rock Album.
They have released eleven No. 1 singles including chart-toppers like Everlong and the Pretender.
