Birmingham, Alabama Natives Win Big At The Oscars
The 95th Academy Awards took place on Sunday March 12th and there were a lot of eyes on the show.
Why?
Well, we all know what happened at the last Oscars awards show.
Back in 2022, Oscars host Chris Rock was on stage doing his hosting thing when he made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith.
After the joke, Will Smith can be seen walking on stage mid-show, slapping Chris Rock and calmly walking back to his seat. All on LIVE TV!
That only added to the list of wild Oscars moments in history.
Do you remember the Oscars in 2017? The show ended with a bang.
When it was time to announce the award winner for Best Picture, there was a huge mix up. The winner was initially announced as "La La Land."
As people involved in the film gave their speeches, someone interrupted to correct the huge mistake saying, "There's a mistake. Moonlight, you guys won Best Picture."
It almost felt like people couldn't wait to see what would happen at this year's show. Fortunately, the show ended without incident.
For Alabamians, something big did happen at the award show. Multiple Alabama natives received awards for their work while at the 2023 Oscars.
The most awarded film of the night, Everything Everywhere All at Once" involved two Birmingham natives.
Daniel Scheinert, and Paul Rogers represented Alabama with their win at the Oscars.
According to This Is Alabama, Daniel Scheinert took it a step further and even wore a tux he bought at Alabama's famous Unclaimed Baggage store.
Congratulations to both Daniel Scheinert, and Paul Rogers on their accomplishments.
