Weekend Homicide Victim in Alabama Has Been Identified
The weekend turned deadly in Montgomery for a 15-year-old gunshot victim.
As reported by AL.com, Victor Flores was gunned down and killed, while six others were also wounded.
Per the reporting, five sustained non-life-threatening injuries, with one having life-threatening injuries. Four victims were taken to the hospital for medical treatment by ambulance.
The other two victims, one adult male and one juvenile, were taken for treatment by a private vehicle. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. with reports of gunshots being discharged on the 300 block of Gardendale Drive, as noted by AL.com.
WSFA reported later that authorities arrested two suspects in connection with the homicide. Baltazar Barrera and Luis Barrera have been booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
Luis is booked on one count of capital murder of a person outside of a vehicle from the vehicle. Baltazar is booked on one count of capital murder of a person outside of a vehicle from the vehicle, as noted by MCSO.
WSFA also reported that one of the suspects, Baltazar Barrera, was out on bond at the time of the incident that left Victor Flores fatally injured. Baltazar had previous charges of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle or building and assault.
The previous incident involving Baltazar left the victim injured from gunshot wounds in his right hand and left thigh, according to WSFA's reporting. A motion has been filed to revoke Barrera’s bond on this incident.
He remains detained in the Montgomery County detention facility.
