UPDATE: Try That in Alabama and See How That Works Out
The idea of treating someone with respect is not a new one by any means. We here in Alabama pride ourselves on having that respect for each other. But when you don’t treat people respectfully, there are consequences, as a Louisiana couple learned earlier this month.
As previously reported, Devon Leslie Jr was the victim of a verbal and physical attack by what appeared to be an intoxicated woman. According to Devon, the woman in question began attacking him because he sat beside her and her male companion.
Devon posted videos of his attacker on his Facebook page and asked for help identifying her. The male companion appeared to be holding the woman back and trying to resolve the situation. However, When Devon asked if security was coming, the male turned to Devon and used a racial slur towards him.
The video ends with the woman acting very aggressively and actually making contact with Devon.
Devon is a military veteran, husband, father and became a local celebrity when he assisted two police officers in pulling a woman into safety who had attempted to take her own life.
As reported by KLSA News 12, the woman climbed over the concrete barrier to jump from a bridge. The two officers grabbed the woman to keep her from jumping.
Devon happened to be traveling on the bridge at the time. He stopped his vehicle and ran toward the officers asking if he could help. Because of the two officers and Devon’s actions, the woman was pulled to safety.
As reported by KULR 8, the couple was charged with public drunkenness and disturbing the peace. As the saying goes, 'treat others as you want to be treated.'
For this Louisiana couple, there is a new saying 'fool around and find out what happens!'
