Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Triumphs, Wins 7 ABBY Awards
Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa has once again demonstrated its excellence in broadcasting by securing an impressive seven awards at the Alabama Broadcasters Association, 18th Annual “Alabama’s Best in Broadcasting” – ABBY Awards.
“I could not be more thrilled for our team to receive this recognition for their daily work to inform and entertain our listeners and readers in Tuscaloosa and West Alabama,” said Market President David R. DuBose. “We have such a dedicated team, and it thrills me to receive this recognition from the Alabama Broadcasters Association."
WALJ-FM - 105.1 The Block is on a winning streak, clinching not one but four ABBY awards, including the coveted “Radio Station of the Year” title for the second consecutive year. As well as being recognized for “Service Project of the Year” for their participation and promotion of the Juneteenth Essay Contest, a collaboration with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. – Eta Xi Omega Chapter.
The spotlight didn’t stop there; The Big Dawg DreDay won “Medium Market Personality of the Year” for the second year in a row. To top it off, their support of the United Way of West Alabama’s Dogtoberfest also garnered a “Judges’ Award of Merit for Medium Market PSA.”
WFFN – 95.3 The Bear and the dynamic duo of the “Steve and DC” Morning Show have roared their way to victory, snagging the prestigious “Judges’ Award of Merit for Medium Market Morning Show.”

WTBC-FM – Tide 100.9 – The Flagship Station for Alabama Sports made a game-winning touchdown by clinching the “Medium Market Sports Talk Show” award with “The Game with Ryan Fowler.” Fowler tipped his hat to the unbeatable mix of stellar Alabama sports content and the unwavering support of their fan base for the show's triumph.
WTSK – Praise 93.3 was honored with the “Medium Market Talk Show” award for “The Culture Call” with L. Spencer Smith. What a great way to pop the confetti and celebrate the first anniversary of the community-centric talk show with this prestigious accolade.
