Tony Romo Says Mac Jones’ Interception was “Horrendous”

Mac Jones is considered by many to be an Alabama Legend for his time at the Capstone. Jones led the Crimson Tide to the 2020 National Championship, also winning several individual awards as well in 2020.

He won the Davey O'Brien Award, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, and the Manning Award and was a Heisman Trophy runner-up. Mac also set several records at Alabama as well.

Mac, in his first season with the Patriots, went 10-7 as a starter and became the most-winning rookie quarterback in Patriot history. However, Mac’s sophomore year in the league was not what anyone expected in the 2022 season.

Mac’s troubles seem to have followed him into this season as well. Going into Week 6, the Patriots were 1-4, losing to the Eagles, Dolphins, Cowboys and Saints. The only win so far was against the Jets in week three of this season.

In Week 6 against the Raiders, Mac was trying to get the Patriots back on the winning track. The Pats were driving down field before Jones threw an interception that was, in the words of former Dallas quarterback and current CBS analyst Tony Romo, a “horrendous throw”

Others are calling for the immediate removal of Mac Jones at quarterback. Media personality Bill Simmons voiced his opinion on his X account.

Is the Mac Jones era ending in Foxborough already? Time will tell currently, the Patriots are in last place in the AFC East division falling to the Raiders 21-17 and are now 1-5 .
