Currently, “a dangerous severe weather outbreak could produce numerous tornadoes, damaging hail, and high winds across the Plains and Midwest,” said The Weather Channel.

Tuesday Outlook

The National Weather Service in Birmingham said Tuesday, conditions could impact the Northwest half of Central Alabama, with the main threats being damaging winds of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail. The current timing of this system is between Noon and 8 p.m.

Wednesday Outlook

The past few days have been pretty warm in our area, giving us a preview of summertime in the South. This trend is set to continue, with Wednesday forecasted to be the year's hottest day yet, as thermometers in many areas are expected to soar to the 90-degree mark.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that those temperatures “will make the air unstable and will open the door for a few strong to severe thunderstorms by afternoon and into Wednesday night.”

The Storm Prediction Center has our Townsquare Media Coverage Area between a marginal and slight risk zone.
