Matthew McConaughey Was in Alabama and Has a Message for the Tide
Matthew McConaughey is no stranger to the state of Alabama, the Hollywood icon is back to film another movie. As reported by AL.com McConaughey was in Hoover on June 29th, filming his new project, The Rivals of Amziah King.
AL.com noted that the Hollywood icon doesn’t have a driver but prefers to drive himself and take back roads and doesn’t have an assistant. McConaughey is well known for rolling down his window and speaking to his fans.
AL.com reported that McConaughey spoke to Hoover residents who came out of their homes to watch the film crew work. “How ya’ll doing I came to work in your neighborhood.” McConaughey was shooting a scene at Oakmont Chapel Presbyterian Church.
Mary Pugh a Hoover resident told AL.com she asked Mr. McConaughey as he was driving away “Mr. McConaughey, can we get a wave?” The Hollywood superstar flashed the “hook em horns” sign and said, “See you in September.”
McConaughey was referring to the September 9th showdown between the Crimson Tide and the Texas Longhorns. The Tide escaped Austin last year with a 20-19 win over the Horns.
