James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, "Temperatures remain below freezing today over the northern half of the state, and road conditions won't improve much until tomorrow when we go above freezing by late morning.”

The National Weather Service in Birmingham said that with this “long-duration cold wave with a hard freeze, wind chill values are as low as the single digits below zero.”

Another Blast of Winter

“Another surge of Arctic air invades the Deep South Friday. The sky will clear with highs in the 30s along with a brisk north wind,” said Spann. The weekend also stays very cold, with “lows will be in the teens for most of the state Saturday and Sunday morning.”
