The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Flood Watch. This flood watch is from Sunday, February 11, at 6 p.m. through Monday, February 12, at 6 p.m.

Continuous rain is expected throughout the designated area starting this evening and continuing into much of Monday, posing a risk of localized flooding in urban areas, low-lying regions, and areas with poor drainage.

Possible impacts from excessive runoff may result in “flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Residents in flood-prone areas should be ready to take necessary steps if flooding occurs.

The Townsquare Media Coverage Area Counties under this Flood Watch include Bibb, Greene, Hale, Perry, Sumter and Tuscaloosa.

Other Alabama Counties under the Flood Watch: Portions of Central, Eastern, and Northeast Central Alabama, including the following counties: Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Etowah, Jefferson, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, and Tallapoosa.
