Playoffs! We talking 'bout playoffs. As in Alabama High School Athletic Association high school football postseason action. The official first round matchups are out, and here's a look at who made it from the West Alabama area, where they play and who their first round opponents are.

Class 6A

St. Paul's Episcopal (7-3) @ Hillcrest (10-0)

Class 5A

Booker T. Washington (5-4) @ American Christian Academy (8-2)

Montgomery Academy (4-5) @ Bibb County (9-1)

West Blocton (6-4) @ Montgomery Catholic (10-0)

Priceville (4-6) @ Dora (8-2)

Class 3A

University Charter (5-5) @ Elba (9-0)

Shoals Christian (5-5) @ Lynn (9-1)

Marion County (5-5) @ Hackleburg (9-1)

Pickens County (7-3) @ Addison (8-2)

Meek (6-4) @ South Lamar (6-3)

The West Alabama Area did not have any playoff qualifiers in either AHSAA Class 7A or AISA private school ball. Both eight-man teams from the area made the postseason but Tuscaloosa Christian was eliminated 30-22 Friday by Russell Christian and North River Christian was defeated by Evangel Christian 68-26. Both had great seasons and are to be congratulated for making the playoffs.
