Tide Hoops Has 2 Named All-SEC
It would seem the coaches agree with the media when it comes to Alabama basketball players on pre-season All-SEC teams.
The Alabama men's basketball duo of Grant Nelson and Mark Sears were announced as Southeastern Conference Preseason Second Team All-SEC selections, the league office announced Thursday. Last month the media voted Nelson first team and Sears second. Both are consensus picks as top 10 players in the league.
The coaches’ preseason All-SEC first and second teams include a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC basketball coaches.
Alabama is one of five schools in the SEC to have multiple selections joining Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
Here is the entire list of players picked by the league's coaches.

Alabama opens its season Monday, Nov 6 at 7 p.m. CT at home against Morehead State. Sears did not participate in either preseason scrimmage but Oats has hinted he will be ready Monday if needed.
Morehead is expected to be without its best returning player Mark Freeman, who recently broke a wrist at practice. Last season Freeman averaged 15 points and 3.7 assists for the Eagles last season and was the OVC Player of the Year.
