As first reported by Nic Kelly of the Tuscaloosa News, Tide 100.9 has confirmed legendary radio broadcaster and longtime voice of Alabama football, Eli Gold, is not expected to return as the voice of the Crimson Tide in 2024. He's been the radio voice of the Alabama Crimson Tide since 1988 and has been around for the entirety of Coach Saban's tenure at Alabama. Gold was also the host of 'Hey Coach.'

Gold has several awards to his name, winning Alabama Sportscaster of the Year four times. He was also named AP Sportscaster of the Year twice and voted Sportscaster of the Year by the United Press International.

Gold also won the Chris Schenkel Award from the National Football Foundation in 2019, an award that recognizes broadcasters who have long careers with ties to one specific school.

He missed the 2022 season due to health issues, but he returned in 2023 calling Alabama home games. In his absence, Chris Stewart, play-by-play announcer for Alabama basketball, stepped in. In 2023, Stewart called all Alabama road games, the SEC Championship, and the College Football Playoff game against Michigan at the Rose Bowl.

Stewart is expected to be the new play-by-play announcer for Alabama Football.

Gold is also a three-time author, authoring his books, "From Peanuts to the Press Box," "Crimson Nation: The Shaping of the South's Most Dominant Football Team," and "Bear's Boys."

Gold has several legendary calls from over the years, from 2nd and 26 to Rocky Block. What are some of your favorite Eli Gold moments?
