Recruit Gifts Saban During Visit
Alabama commitment Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. of Gadsden City High is a familiar name to Crimson Tide fans as his dad Dre Sr. played for Nick Saban and then in the NFL. Kirkpatrick Jr. is a top safety and kick returner in the '24 class and will sign with UA later this month.
Saban visited Kirkpatrick and his mom Tuesday in Gadsden. That was planned and expected. What was not was young Dre giving Saban an early Christmas present, as shown in this tweet:
Kirkpatrick Jr. presented Saban with a gift that the coach unwrapped to find a Christmas ornament saying, "World's Greatest Coach."
Well, he's not lying.
"I don't usualy receive gifts," a smiling Saban noted after unwrapping the treasured trinket.
The early signing period for football prospects lasts from Dec. 20-22, and Kirkpatrick is expected to follow his dad's footsteps to Tuscaloosa at that time.
