More Alabama Football All-American News
Junior Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner was named a first-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association Thursday. Teammates Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold, the Crimson Tide's starting corners, made the organization's second team.
What It Means
The fact that McKinstry did not make the AFCA first team means the the junior cornerback short of achieving consensus All-America status.
Turner made four of the five NCAA-recognized first teams. However, his not being a Walter Camp first team All-American means Turner was not a unanimous All-American.
Them's the breaks. He's still a top NFL prospect, as are McKinstry and Arnold.
The three stars honored Wednesday and their teammates will resume practice Saturday, Dec. 16 in preparation for a Playoff semifinal matchup against Michigan in the Rose Bowl played in Pasadena, CA. on Jan. 1.
