Kool-Aid McKinstry Finds NFL Home
Alabama's cornerback duo was arguably the best in college football last season. Terrion Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry spearheaded the Alabama defense as the Crimson Tide won the 2023 SEC Championship, and both were projected to be first-round picks in this year's NFL draft.
Arnold was flying up draft boards, but McKinstry was falling due to a Jones fracture in his foot. Despite the injury, McKinstry has still been selected in the second round of the NFL draft.
With the No. 41 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints have selected Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry after trading with the Green Bay Packers.
McKinstry is listed as 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds according to Alabama's website. McKinstry was an early starter for Alabama and had to grow up quickly as a true freshman. He was named First-Team All-SEC in 2021 and was a two-time All-American for the Crimson Tide before entering the 2024 NFL draft.
In 2023, McKinstry had seven pass breakups and 24 total tackles.
