As Alabama fans panic about the 2024 secondary, Kalen DeBoer is rolling up his sleeves and going to work.

According to On3, All-Pac 12 cornerback Jabbar Muhammad is visiting Alabama this week, and one source feels good about Alabama's chances to land the highly-coveted prospect.

Muhammad played for DeBoer at Washington. He has interest from several Power 5 programs, but DeBoer gives Bama a good shot.

Muhammad is expected to visit Texas first. The Longhorns are making their bid, er case.

On3's Gerry Hamilton reported it first, but it's now circulating nationally.

As On3 said, "Muhammad was a key piece of the Washington defense this past season as the Huskies made a run to the College Football Playoff national championship. He led the team with three interceptions while adding 46 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.

"After entering the portal last Friday night, Muhammad checked in as the No. 25 overall player in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. He was one of multiple Washington players to hit the portal after the departure of Kalen DeBoer, who is preparing to take over for Nick Saban as the next head coach at Alabama.

"Muhammad played high school football at DeSoto (TX) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,064 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies."

Bottom line: If Alabama's starting corners are Muhammad and USC transfer Domani Jackson, there will be very little drop-off replacing Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold.
