West Alabama may soon see a reprieve from an especially brutal summer. ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist James Spann says that next week's forecast calls for cooler temperatures that could bring the first taste of fall into Alabama.

"A pattern change will bring two fronts into the state. The first one arrives Monday, the second one most likely Wednesday. There will be a chance of showers and storms with each front, and following the second one we expect a nice surge of cooler air with lower humidity," Spann said.

How cool will next week be--both literally and figuratively?

"By Thursday and Friday of next week, highs drop into the low 80s, with lows in the 50s over a decent part of North Alabama," Spann said.

Although cooler weather is still at least eight days away--and the forecast could still change--just knowing we're getting a break from the oppressive summer heat is enough to get anyone hype. I can't wait until I can bust out my sweaters and boots and ascend to my peak and most powerful form.
