Here’s How to Help Hurricane Harvey Victims
The coastal region of Texas has been devastated by massive flooding and tornadoes caused by Hurricane Harvey.
There are many people willing and able to help those victims of this massive storm, but it's best to assist organizations that are built for efforts like this. Donating to the proper agency could mean the difference of your assistance actually going to the right people versus benefiting someone that's taking advantage of this situation.
Here are organizations that are coordinating relief efforts that desperately need your help:
American Red Cross
- Currently, the American Red Cross is accepting donations to help purchase supplies for victims and volunteers.

Donate Blood
- The National Blood Exchange has asked all blood centers to help support the need in Houston. The main blood type in need is O+ but all donors are welcome.

- Accepting monetary and diaper donations to help families displaced by Harvey.
- Donate online and specify that you want your funds to go to Disaster Relief.
Austin Pets Alive!
- Austin Pets Alive is a no-kill shelter and are currently taking in displaced animals from the storm. You can make a donation online to help assist them in taking care of these animals.
JJ Watt/You Caring
- The Houston Texans star has organized a crowdfunding account, via YouCaring.com, with a goal of $500,000
