Scott Weiland has passed away at the age of 48. The former frontman for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver was found unresponsive on his tour bus last night.

Scott was on tour with his band Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts in Minnesota. TMZ is reporting that Scott was found dead in his tour bus around 9 p.m. last night.

An official post on Instagram later confirmed the news.

Scott rose to fame as the frontman of the San Deigo band Stone Temple Pilots, one of the biggest and most influential alt-rock acts of the 1990's. Fans remember Weiland for songs like "Creep," "Plush," and "Interstate Love Song."
