Former Hillcrest Star Tim Anderson Buys His Mother a Car After New MLB Contract

A week after signing a contract worth $25 million, White Sox shortsop Tim Anderson gifted his mother a brand new Mercedes-Benz. 

The former Hillcrest High School athlete posted a picture on Twitter today with his mom standing next to a shiny, black SUV.

Anderson, who was drafted in the first round by Chicago in 2013, spent two seasons playing for the Birmingham Barons before being called up to Triple-A in 2016. He would later make his major league debut last season and eventually took over the starting job.

When the White Sox gave him a six-year, $25 million contract this month, Anderson became the highest paid player in MLB history with less than a year service time.
