The last time DCH treated a total of seven COVID-19 inpatients was April 2, 2020. As an increasing number of West Alabama residents continue to get vaccinated against the virus, the strain on the hospital has decreased.
DCH set records for inpatients in January as the Intensive Care Unit also reached maximum capacity.
Vaccination efforts continue throughout the state, and the Alabama National Guard is hosting mobile clinics over the next three weeks with the goal of vaccinatiing 8,000 Alabamians weekly.
