Butch Jones is headed to the Sun Belt.

The former Tennessee head coach and current Alabama assistant is reportedly replacing Blake Anderson as Arkansas State's newest head coach. Anderson resigned from his position two days ago, electing to leave the program after seven seasons with the Red Wolves. ESPN rumored that he's headed to Utah State to take the head job.

Upon being fired after Tennessee's 4-6 2017 season, Jones was quickly hired by the Crimson Tide to be an intern for the team. He was promoted to head coach Nick Saban's special assistant earlier this year. Overall, he has an overall 84-54 winning record as a head coach.

Unranked Arkansas State is 4-7 overall so far this year. Today's game against the University of the Incarnate Word was canceled earlier this week after the Cardinals faced complications due to COVID-19.
