The reigning SEC Champs took on the Oregon State Beavers in the first game of the doubleheader. Alabama took a 2-0 lead at the top of the second inning with an RBI single from Dallis Goodnight and a home run from the sensational freshman Megan Bloodworth. The Beavers hopped on the board with a solo home run from Frankie Hammoude, but that's all they could get as Montana Fouts cleaned up the damage with three strikeouts to finish the ending.

Tennessee transfer Ally Shipman helped the Tide take the lead with a hit into space and drive in two more runs to make it 4-1 at the top of the fifth. Bailey Dowling added on another RBI single to make it 5-1. The game marked Fout's 29th career game with double-digit strikeouts. Alabama is now 3-1 all-time versus the Beavers.

Alabama and Arizona met in the first round of the 2021 WCWS, and the Tide beat the Wildcats 5-1. In the previous years, Alabama had a combined 14 runs all-time against the Wildcats in Tucson going into Saturday night. So, could Arizona deliver some revenge against the Crimson Tide?

Both teams remained scoreless through the first two innings until Lexi Kilfoy, the starting pitcher, popped one out of the ballpark to get the team on the board first. Alabama scored five more times in the third with a three-run home run from Junior Abby Doerr to make 6-0. Ashley Prange and Dallis Goodnight hit a solo home run to increase the lead by two, and the game entered in the run-rule territory.

Arizona struck out again as the Tide strengthened its grip on the game. Prange pressured the Wildcats to score her second home run and another three-run to make it 11-0. Arizona had to score four at the bottom of the fifth to keep the game going but failed to do so and ended with another 11-0 run-rule win for head coach Patrick Murphy and the Tide.

Alabama finished the weekend with 4-0 with an 8-3 win over the New Mexico Lobos on Sunday. The Tide will try to stay undefeated by going 5-0 when they return to Tuscaloosa for the weekend home opener in the Easton Bama Bash.
