Alabama Doesn’t Deserve The #2 Spot In College Football Playoff Rankings
That's what us Alabama fans will hear all week.
It started about 5 minutes into the LSU game Saturday evening.
I know we looked bad against the Tigers from Baton Rouge.
I get it. TOO MANY PENALTIES!
We missed a field goal and gave up a first down on that surprising fake punt by LSU. Yes, thank goodness for our defense rising up at the end of the game to preserve the win.
However, maybe a wee bit of perspective is needed in the crazy world of college football fans.
LSU had a lame duck coaching staff, players that did not play and so on and so on.
THEY HAD NOTHING TO LOSE!
That makes a massive difference in major college football contests. The Tide had plenty to lose. When a team with talent, and let's face it, LSU has talent.
You don't win a National Championship a couple of years back and have no talent on your team.
Unranked teams are always so dangerous in November. You see everything thrown at you in the hopes of that HUGE upset over Nick Saban and Alabama.
Don't forget, we have overcome some setbacks as well in 2021.
New QB, new RB, new WR's on offense. Chemistry isn't an overnight thing. At times this year, Bill O'Brien, has directed an offense averaging over 40 points a game, good for 3rd in the nation.
We have been averaging over 500 yards of offense through much of this season. That's pretty dang good, when you consider the new faces in the starting lineup.
I don't know about you, but I will not bet against Nick Saban having this team ready for the stretch run.
In the past, when I have, Bama and Saban have proved me a fool. So this week we will hear about Cincinnati over and over again.
I will have to tune it all out for the sake of my blood pressure. I look forward to the next CFP rankings this week.
