Young Girl Dies After Being Locked Inside Hot Car in Homewood

Shocking news from Homewood this afternoon as a one year old-girl is dead after being locked in a car.

Reports say the incident happened around 1:30pm today on 19th Street and Oxmoor Road. Apparently, the mother normally drops the child off at daycare, but did not today and forgot her baby was in the car. The child was pronounced dead at Children's of Alabama. Authorities continue to investigate.
