University of Alabama Police Warning Students of Multiple Off-Campus Robberies
University of Alabama Police (UAPD) and Tuscaloosa Police Department (TPD) are investigating several armed robberies reported south of UA campus Tuesday.
The incidents happened just south of campus between 10-11 pm Tuesday night.
A press release from UAPD read,
The incidents reported as robberies last night occurred in the 800 block of 12th Street, and the 1200 and 1400 blocks of 9th Ave. No injuries were reported, and nothing was actually taken from the victims.
All of the victims were students who reported a suspect approaching them near or in their cars and displaying what appeared to be a gun. The suspect(s) left after asking for money or phones. Police cannot confirm whether the incidents were related.
UAPD and TPD will continue enhanced patrols in the area. Please be aware of safety precautions.
