The Alabama Innovation Corp. issued its first wave of grants to support small businesses statewide and three of the 30 companies that received money are located in Tuscaloosa.

Page said that around 90 percent of the City’s $1 million donation to the relief fund has already been awarded to local businesses.

As the nation's economy continues to rebound with a decrease in unemployment and a rise in GDP, not every state is growing at the same rate.
