Meet our B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama, a dog named Trooper. The name is so fitting for this survivor who is available for adoption!

I'm so excited to break out my new toy for this video shoot! You see, my shelter visits are a solo effort and this extended stick could be a total game changer. It didn't take long to notice the ability to get a wide array of video shot angles with this incredible invention. See it in the video.

As arrived at the shelter, Trooper greeted my with a wagging tail and a big hello! Clearly, he is friendly. I thought for sure he would love running around and playing with me. Instead, it appears Trooper has found a girlfriend. Yeah, he kept going to the fence where once particular lady was hanging out. At one point, the two exchanged lengthy eskimo kisses.

Why his name fits and why he is such a survivor comes from where Trooper was found, at a hunting camp, lost and alone.  He was skin and bones and has made a tremendous comeback, gaining 15 pounds and now weighing 50.

The Humane Society of West Alabama says Trooper is Labrador Retriever & Terrier Mix who is just under 1 year old. He's also up to date on his shots and ready for his forever home. Maybe yours?!
