Code Black and The West Wing actor Rob Lowe had a few sober words for Bella Thorne after she complained on social media about getting stuck in traffic in California, seemingly unaware about fatal mudslides in the area.

"This attitude is why people hate celebrities/Hollywood," Lowe told Thorne. "Bella, I am sorry you were inconvenienced. "We will try to move out our dead quicker."

Lowe, 53, was responding to Thorne's now deleted tweet, which read: "[Expletive] u 101 to santa barbra. I'm missing my boyfriends first date on his tour:(((."

Even though the original statement and Lowe's response to it are gone from the 20-year-old, Famous in Love star's feed, followers posted screenshots of them in the comments section of Thorne's update: "Just caught up on some news had no idea why the 101 was shut down...get home to your family safe."

Search teams were looking Thursday for at least eight people reported missing after a series of mudslides in Southern California. The search has been hampered by blocked roads, downed trees and power lines.

At least 17 people have been killed and 28 injured in the natural disaster. Dozens of stranded residents also have been rescued by helicopter in areas of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. About 100 homes were destroyed and 300 more damaged in the county.

Lowe, who lives with his family in the area, tweeted earlier this week: "Mourning the dead in our little town tonight. Praying for the survivors and preparing for whatever may come. #Montecito."
