PHOTOS: Alabama Football’s Completes Second Scrimmage of the Spring
The University of Alabama football team held its second scrimmage of the spring Friday afternoon inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
“A lot of good things to look to build on and also some things we certainly need to improve on,” Saban said after the second scrimmage of the spring.
The Crimson Tide ran roughly 150 plays in the two-hour scrimmage, which is the final work inside Bryant-Denny until next Saturday’s Golden Flake A-Day Game.
“The balance on offense was good. There was good balance between some of the passes, some explosive plays. I thought we ran the ball better and had a couple explosive runs, which there was an absence of a week ago,” Saban said. “Defensively, I thought there was a little more juice, but, like I said, I didn’t think we tackled as well as we need to.
“I thought the specialists performed really, really well today. The punter and kickers were pretty good. We did block a field goal, which was really good for the defense.”
Alabama’s 2017 Golden Flake A-Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, at 2 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. The A-Day Game is once again free to the public and will be broadcast on ESPN with Joe Tessitore, Joey Galloway and Kirk Herbstreit calling the action with Laura Rutledge providing additional insight from the sidelines.
