Thirteen episodes in 2-and-a-half days: it's safe to say that 'Orange is the New Black' is my tv crack. It's a Netflix original, and it's every bit as engrossing as Netflix's other acclaimed series, 'House of Cards,' and as funny as new episodes of 'Arrested Development.' Netflix is really on to something here; have you watched 'Orange is the New Black' yet?

I had seen a few reviews about the show and how awesome it was last week, most of which I didn't even bother to read. I got addicted last Saturday afternoon. Our daughter was asleep for a rare weekend nap (it's like Gerber puts meth in her formula; she NEVER sleeps on the weekend), and my dude and I were perusing Netflix for something to watch. We thought we'd give 'OITNB' a try. I mean, it had Jason Biggs in it, so what did we have to lose?

We started watching and were hooked within five minutes. By Monday, we had watched season one in its entirety. I LOVE this show, y'all.

'Orange is the New Black' follows Piper Chapman during her stay in a women's Federal Prison. She goes from NYC chic to standard issue prison orange. The series is incredible. You follow Piper along on her journey, but you get to know--and love--her fellow inmates as well. These women's stories are told so well, so earnestly that you'll start seeing the inmates as people, not prisoners.

I'm not going to give any spoilers away because I want you to watch it for yourself. Wait until the kids are in bed because there's lots of "adult" content, but watch this show! I promise, you'll love it. The show's creator, Jenji Kohan, is the mastermind behind Showtime's hit comedy series 'Weeds,' so you know it's good stuff.

So, please--check out 'Orange is the New Black!' I need people with whom I can talk about/ obsess over the show until season two is released.

Check out the interview with the series star Taylor Schilling (she plays Piper Chapman) to get a sneak peek of the show.
