If you're reading this article through Microsoft Internet Explorer, you've got some bad news headed your way: the long-standing web browser is set to be nixed.

Microsoft announced yesterday it's dropping the IE brand in favor of a new browser; the re-branding effort is currently named "Project Spartan."

Microsoft's IE brand had dropped out of favor in recent years, especially due to the browser's incompatibility with mobile platforms. Consumers seem to prefer browsers like Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.

Do you still use IE? I made the switch to Chrome a few years ago; I'd used Firefox prior to that. Honestly, I don't think I've used IE for, like, a looong time. What do you think about Microsoft's decision to kill the Internet Explorer brand?
