Say hi to Missy, a less than 24-month-old female Corgi/Terrier mix dog who is our B101.7 Pet of the Week with the Humane Society of West Alabama!

Missy has a sleek black coat with some white markings and the short legs and stout body of a corgi. She is a nice small/medium size, weighing around 20 pounds.

The Humane Society tells us how this young girl was pulled from our local animal shelter, where she and some of her siblings were picked up by Animal Control and no one came to claim them after a month of being there. The Huamne Society also has her sister, Prissy!

They say Missy is a little shy at first but warms up quickly, and is really a nice and friendly dog! You'll notice her behavior is pretty calm, making her a nice companion pet.

It has been noticed that Missy is also good with other dogs and tends to be the submissive one in a group.

The Humane Society believes that she should be fine with children and should be okay in an apartment, as long as she gets daily exercise. Missy will require a fenced in yard if left outside any unattended.

Over at the shelter, they've started on her crate training. Also, Missy is up to date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative and is microchipped. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

If you are interested in giving Missy the forever home she wants and deserves, visit the Humane Society of West Alabama at HumaneSocietyofWA.org or call HSWA at (205)554-0011.
