Jalen Hurts Speaks to the Media for the First Time after SEC Championship
Alabama is on the verge of its second undefeated season under Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide has done it behind the leadership of a true freshman quarterback.
Jalen Hurts took over the starting job in the first half of the season opener against USC and has looked back. Through 13 games, the Texas native has thrown for 2,592 yard, rushed for 841, and accounted for 34 total touchdowns.
But one of the best seasons by a freshman quarterback in SEC history went quietly off the field. Saban's policy of not allowing freshmen to talk to the media meant that the player in the biggest spotlight couldn't talk about his play or his development throughout a championship season.
That all changed on Saturday night.
Watch Hurts' first media appearance in the locker room following a 54-16 win over a Florida that completed a 3-peat for the Crimson Tide.
