The Alabama Crimson Tide started its season in fine fashion on Saturday night by defeating the Utah State Aggies in Week 1. The Tide turns its focus to the Lonestar state as Alabama heads out to Texas for a marquee matchup in Week 2.

Layered underneath two of college football's biggest brands are all the connections between the Longhorns and Crimson Tide programs. Former Alabama offensive coordinator and current Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian updated the public on the status of two former Alabama athletes.

Senior tight end Jahleel Billngsley did not play in the Texas opener and Sarkisian revealed that he is currently serving a six-game suspension. Billingsley's suspension stems from his time in Tuscaloosa and is an NCAA matter. The Longhorns appealed the suspension but are not expecting it to be overturned.

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Agiye Hall is back with the Longhorns program after serving a short suspension. Hall was sidelined after an arrest for criminal mischief in which he destroyed a parking boot. Hall did dress for the Louisiana-Monroe game over the weekend but he did not record any statistics.
