Former Alabama Lineman Announces New College Football Home
Former Alabama offensive linemen Tommy Brockermeyer has announced where he will play college football after entering the transfer portal last week. Brockermeyer took to social media to announce he would be headed back to his home state of Texas and continue his playing career for the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs.
The former 5-star recruit becomes the second Alabama player who chose the Horned Frogs as former receiver JoJo Earle also decided to transfer to TCU this week. The Horned Frogs won the Big 12 regular season title and are currently preparing for a College Football Playoff semifinal matchup with the Michigan Wolverines.
Brockermeyer returns to the Fort Worth area of Dallas where he played his high school football for All Saints Episcopal.
The lineman ultimately played in just two games for the Crimson Tide both in a reserve role in 2022.
The Alabama players who've entered the portal have largely had an easy time finding new homes thus-far in this cycle.
Tommy Brockemeyer - TCU
Tanner Bowles - Kentucky
Fans still await destinations for Trey Sanders, Amari Kight and Damieon George. The transfer portal opened on December 5 and will remain open until January 18. The Crimson Tide, along with every other college football program will have the next month to maintain and improve its roster for 2023.
