Flashback Friday (Alabama-Florida Game Edition): Destiny’s Child ‘Say My Name’

Our Alabama Crimson Tide opens up 2014 SEC play in T-Town this weekend, and I've found myself looking for 'the' song to feature. It's the B101.7 Flashback Friday Spotlight driven by Townsend Honda.

So, while digging around, I came across a song from Destiny's Child. That song, the 1999 hit, 'Say My Name.' A big time song for Beyonce and company, with accolades following, as they scored a moon man trophy from the MTV VMA's for Best R&B Video. Add to that, a couple of prestigious Grammy awards too. One for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and the other for Best R&B Song.

You may be thinking, "gee Greg, I like the song, but what does that have to with the football game?" Well, as I listened to the song, I began changing the lyrics around to fit a Florida Gators football player. Sure, as the TIDE ROLLS over these guys tomorrow, they will be seeing stars and wondering, "what's my name, what's my name... the Tide is rolling... don't know what to do... what's my name, what's my name."
