Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide have been recruiting at a top level for the last 14 years, going all over the nation to secure top talent. Its inevitable when recruiting at such a high level that sometimes players will transfer out of your program for bigger opportunities elsewhere. One player who has done this and seems to be making the most of his opportunity so far is linebacker Ale Kaho.

Kaho, now a redshirt junior, is in his first season with the UCLA Bruins after having spent time in the transfer portal this past offseason. The Bruins played a Week 0 game against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and emerged victorious 44-10.

Kaho helped put the exclamation point on the game for the Bruins by blocking a punt in the third quarter that was recovered in the endzone by UCLA teammate David Priebe. Kaho is no stranger to blocking punts as he blocked three punts in 2019 for the Tide and was a multi-time Special Teams Player of the Week for Alabama in 2020.

The blocked punt was not the only impactful play for the Alabama-transfer. The linebacker busted through the offensive line for a sack to force a 3rd & long situation for Hawaii.

The former four-star linebacker out of Reno, NV., was a part of the Crimson Tide's 2018 recruiting class. Kaho appeared in 39 games for the Tide as a rotational linebacker, a special teams ace and a goal-line fullback on offense. He recorded 31 tackles during his time on defense and special teams.

Kaho will lead his Bruins against a familiar foe in Week 1. UCLA will take on SEC West foe LSU at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4 in Los Angeles.
