Alabama Ranked No. 1 in 2016 Preseason Coaches Poll
For just the third time in the past 25 years, the Alabama Crimson Tide will open the season as the No. 1 team in the Amway Coaches Poll.
The first preseason college football poll of 2016 was released on Thursday morning and Nick Saban's team will pick up where it left off in January. The Crimson Tide has reached that top spot 46 total times since 1991.
Clemson, last year's runner-up in the College Football Playoff, will start the year off at No. 2 with Oklahoma, Florida State, and Ohio State rounding out the top five.
The Southeastern Conference leads all conferences with six teams in the top 25. LSU is the second-highest ranked SEC team at No. 6. Tennessee, which was picked to win the SEC East by the media last month, holds a top-10 ranking for the first time since December of 2006.
