He was booked by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office and held on $500 bond. According to Tidesports.com, police detained Ray after he refused to leave an establishment at Midtown Village. Once they determined he was intoxicated, they took him to the Tuscaloosa County jail.

The rising junior is expected to be a key part of the defensive line next fall after playing this season as the top reserve. With the loss of Isaiah Buggs (senior) and Quinnen Williams (NFL) up front, Ray has a chance to earn a starting spot heading into the opener against Duke in August.

He finished his sophomore season with 29 tackles, six tackles for a loss, and 2.5 sacks and began showing flashes of strength and skill that made him a five-star prospect and the No. 1 recruit in the state for the 2017 class.

The University of Alabama has not commented on the matter.
